WipEout HD offers custom soundtracks

Posted on February 26th, 2008 at 13:41 EDT

For fans of the series, you’re quite aware of the solid soundtracks that the WipEout series usually plays host to.  WipEout HD is shaping up to be no exception to its predecessors selection of great tunes to race at high speeds to.  Sony recently released the entire track list for WipEout HD and here is how it looks.

  • MoveYa! & Steve Lavers: Chemical
  • Stanton Warriors: Tokyo
  • DJ Fresh: X-Project (100% Pure mix)
  • Ed Rush, Optical & Matrix: Frontline
  • Noisia: Seven Stitches
  • MIST: Smart Systems
  • Mason: Exceeder - Special mix
  • Booka Shade: Steady Rush
  • Kraftwerk: Aero Dynamik

If this list doesn’t have anything you could see yourself driving too, don’t worry; Sony has allowed for a complete custom soundtrack to be used for this title as well.  Much like the PlayStation Portable version, WipEout Pulse, WipEout HD will offer this key and much cried for feature also.

This is awesome. Hopefully when in-game XMB comes around, most if not all games incorporate custom soundtrack support.

Im sure the music in the game will be top notch anyway, but this only makes the game better.  Cant wait to play some Astral Projection while playing this, it goes so well.

I don't think I've heard of any of these songs.  Too bad I don't put much music on my PS3 as it is.

But where are The Chemical Brothers, Phil or Paul Hartnoll (Since Orbital have separated), Hybrid (Check out the albums Wider Angle, Morning Sci-Fi and I Choose Noise) and possibly a return of Leftfield. If there not in here I can use my own collection.
