Thrustmaster has announced the world’s first-ever joystick for the PS3. The T. Flight Stick X allows PS3 owners to take their games to the next level while they control their aircrafts in games such as Blazing Angels 2.
Thrustmaster has been developing joysticks since 1991 and with 16 years of experience, they are now launching a joystick that is designed especially for console gamers. With most joysticks, there is a long and boring button configuration, but the new T. Flight Stick X offers instant pleasure with Plug and Play capabilities. As of now, the joystick is compatible with all flight games for the PS3.
The T. Flight Stick X features:
- Weighted base for stability particularly when carrying out sharp maneuvers
- Large hand rest for comfort
- Rapid-fire trigger for optimal performance
- Throttle to control fuel flow
- Multi-directional hat-switch
- Mapping to adapt the 12 buttons and 4 axes to suit user’s preferences
- Presets to instantly switch from one programming to another
- Internal memory to save the latest configuration
- 100% PS3 and PC compatible
The T. Flight Stick X will be available in early December with an MSRP of USD 29.99.

dumb
And now we need only... flight simulator.
(Blazing Angels 2 is a simple arcade, sixaxis/ds3 is far enough for it)
I agree with Azmatik, looks dumb.
Looks sick(in a good way),i might pick one of these up.
it looks ugly as well....
It's nice, but I'm fairly certain it will be of no use to most people. The trouble with huge sticks like that - or even steering wheels - is where the heck do you put them?
Most people will have the console in a living room or bedroom, which will usually mean that you don't have a suitable surface to put them on... rendering them useless. Whereas with a PC, it's usually on a desk, which also provides somewhere to put the stick/wheel. I had a wheel for my old PS1, and I hardly ever used it for that very reason. Ended up giving it away.
Can't see it selling many, if I'm honest... and Thrustmaster will probably make an equally sudden withdrawal from the console market.
I'd pick one up for my pc but I wouldn't use it on my PS3.
While it may look dumb to some people, this is a great add on. Some people love flight sticks, and this could help devs to program so really cool flight sims. Plus, the PS3 is so open that anyone can make an accessory. For the 360, you have to get it "licensed by microsoft", which means you have pay them to make it. Go PS3!
Depends one who is willingly to use it, I think we can just have better games in utilizing the sixaxis.
Hmmm. I know I had heard there was another joystick that was compatible with the PS3....not sure what the heII it was called tho....hmmm...
I hope this game will be compatible with an upcoming installment of Ace Combat. Only then will I buy this.
I'd think about it if I could use it for all games not just flight games. I always did like the old Atari joystick.
It looks horrible!
Wait, this could be really cool. It depends though. Can I say use my Sixaxes or FragFx for ground, then just grab the joystick if I wanna use the plane? Kinda like you can do in BF2 for the PC. If thats the case its fricin cool.
psn id: gingo... that tihng looks ugly but at least companies are starting to now make 3rd party accesories for the ps3 which is always gd for the consumer
As long as it works with AC6 I will buy it
